Summer is the most popular time of year to move. It makes sense. The kids are out of school. There aren’t any snowstorms that need to be planned around. And the holidays aren’t traditionally filled with as many family traditions.
As Hobe Sound movers, we generally don’t have to worry about winter weather, but we still see a large number of residents moving during this time of year. While it might seem like the best and most logical choice, there are some definite obstacles to consider.
- Getting a Mover – Many people don’t realize that movers can book up quickly and they can’t usually be found for last minute moves. We recommend that you schedule your move at least one month in advance to ensure you are on our schedule.
- Temperature – Not all trucks are climate controlled, so plan accordingly. We can’t take anything that is flammable or living- including houseplants. Be sure to keep heat sensitive items out of the boxes for your movers.
- Pack for a Week – If you are moving just a couple of blocks away, the week may be extremely, but be prepared for your movers to hit a couple of roadblocks. Three to four households can usually fit on one truck. This means that whatever weather or unloading issues that arise at the other locations will affect your move. It’s best to be prepared to not have your belongings for a few days after you get to your new home.
We know that your move is a stressful and overwhelming process. With these tips, and some help from our residential moving experts, it becomes a much more manageable endeavor.
